Cantabria lies along the Cantabrian sea coast in the north and is divided into both an inland area and coast. The inland in Cantabria is the most beautiful area you will ever see with its beautiful scenery along with the Mayor capes. There are also the most beautiful beaches that are lined with steep cliffs. There are also different full water rivers due to the heavy rainfall that are nourished by the ice melting from the mountains. The most important rivers include Agüera River, Ason River, Miera River, Besaya River, and the Deva River. Cantabria’s geography is dominated from Pena Labrada, the point where all the rivers end up connecting. The language spoken there is Spanish but mountain language is also commonly spoken there.

The capital of Cantabria is Santander. Its council is one of the most important in the area. Its autonomy statute was also accredited by the Parliament during 1981 where members are selected ever three years. The weather in Cantabria is very Atlantic, both warm and cold, in the whole area. However, in the mountain area it can get a bit too cold and the temperature can decrease below zero point accompanied with heavy snows.

Cantabria is also famously known for its vegetation that is grown on the Peninsula of Iberia. This peninsula is also known for its carefully grown forests and rare trees such as European leafy tress. On the other side, southern Cantabria is known for its dry vegetation. Another important character is the region variation along the Mediterranean which brings up unique species such as arbutus plantations. There are also different national parks that are worth visiting such as Picos Europa Park, Santona Marshes Park, Saja Park, and Dune Liencres Park. Cantabria is also home to several important Spanish universities such as Cantabria University, UNED, and Comillas University.

When it comes to sports, bolo is the sport traditionally played in Cantabria where it is usually played next to the church or just in public areas. Ever since the 1980s, there have been different tournaments taking place such as the Cup championship and the National championship. Sometimes it is referred to as bowling where several malls there have created bowling arenas for tourists. There are also different fairs and festivals that take place throughout the year. The most important one is the livestock Torrelavega fair which is considered to be the third biggest fair amongst all fairs in Spain.
